Twiddling knobs

Not the finest photo I've ever taken, but it is representative of my evening spent helping a family member's band get to grips with their new sound gear.
Not a bad little setup, and I've rather enjoyed my trip back into sound work.
Sadly, I'm not around to help at their first real gig with this new gear, but their regular sound man is doing a good job, and I hope the last couple of sessions with two heads on sound have been useful for him.

Leap! (He's A Very Silly Boy)

Click image to view a bigger version

Yes, it is the 29th of February on a leap year.
Yes, I did go to the park, in the dark, with a pile of light stands and flashguns, and jump off a bench.
Yes, I did rather enjoy this.
Yes, I am a very silly boy.
No, I do not apologise for this fact.
One more, if you're silly enough, after the jump...

Mad day

What a bonkers day... I feel like I've got next to nothing done, at least of stuff that I was planning to get done, yet I've been running round like there's no tomorrow!

Definitely more than hints

Not the finest of photos, I'll admit. But in a little over a month, and even with a forecast of snow, the change is marked.

Calm ahead, rush behind

I think this image feels quite peaceful. It's slightly jarring to remember that there was hectic traffic on the bridge behind me as I took this.
I'm not totally happy with the image, I think I should have taken a few steps to the left to lose the branches in the bottom right, and something about the framing is making my eye twitch in a disconcerting manner - but I think it would have been difficult to get a much better composition from anywhere I was able to access.
I contemplated going much tighter in on the bridge you can see in the distance, with a long exposure to get some light trails, but the bridge I was standing on was vibrating from the traffic, and I think it would have rendered any time exposure a blurry mess!

Hints

Click image to view a bigger version

Small things.
I noticed the first hints of the days lengthening again today. The combination of slightly longer days (sunset was 10 minutes later than on the shortest day, and 13 minutes later than the earliest sunset of the year), coupled with clearer skies than we have had for a while meant there was noticeable light left in the sky when I left work.
A small thing, but one that made me feel like things are perhaps a tiny bit better than they were.
