Showers

Click image to view a bigger version

This one's from this afternoon, after a somewhat damp trip to @lensfayre for the launch of Megawatt Valley by @davidsevern_photo, @calmanalogue, and @chrismatthews82.

I enjoyed seeing the exhibition of photos, and was rather pleased to find that my submission was included (photos 2 and 3, after the jump).

I picked up a couple of rolls of film from Lensfayre, so I'll hopefully get something decent on that in the near future.

The power station photo was shot on the evening that the power station shut down, ending the era of coal power generation in the UK, back in September 2024.

Notches

Click image to view a bigger version

The path up to the new bridge appears to have gained some much-needed lighting in the last couple of weeks.
All solar powered via dinky little integrated panels, so I'm not convinced they'll be overly reliable with this much tree cover...

It will be interesting to see how well they work as we move into the shorter days and darker evenings.

Muscle Power

I took Bailey for a walk straight after work this evening, and coincidentally bumped into my colleague, who was about to go rowing.

I hung around and took a few photos as the two teams had a couple of races.

Disinclined

Click image to view a bigger version

I've got Bailey staying with me for a few days.

This dog has almost as much inclination to get up and go to work as I do.

Only a phone photo today, but it's all I shot with, so this is what you're getting. Refunds of the price of admission are available at reception, which is closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Some of the bits I've spent a lot of time making this week / weekend.
On a bigger, more rigid machine, these would be pretty easy bits, but on my tiny little lathe, it's more of a challenge. I'd go into more detail, but I fear most of the audience would die of boredom, so I'll leave it here!
Still, by my measurements, they're all in tolerance, with the exception of one groove, which I'll probably remake, and the lathe hasn't gone up in smoke yet, so it's all good.

Running Away

Click image to view a bigger version

Took Bailey out for a walk this afternoon, and got thoroughly rounded up when I dropped behind to take a photo.
If he's with more than one person, he does like you all to stick together, and if you split up, he will dash back and forth between people until you're back in a group.

Unusual Companions

Click image to view a bigger version

Fairly unusual to see a fixed wing and rotor flying at the same speed, as far as I can tell, but this pair did it rather well.

A backup photo today, taken at the Wales airshow a few weeks ago.

Work has been more than usually mad this week, we are on a horrendous deadline, and the lathe has virtually given up the ghost, thus I've spent much of the past few evenings making parts on my tiny machine instead.

Eclipsed

I spent an interesting couple of hours photographing the eclipse this evening.
Unfortunately, I didn't have any eclipse viewing glasses, so I was restricted to watching through the camera's screen, but it was still a great experience.
One more after the jump.

On The Road Again

Click image to view a bigger version

I finally got my toy through an MOT and back on the road after several years of being SORN'd.
She's 20 years old this year, and still an absolute pleasure to drive.
Once I've replaced a leaky shock and done a service, I feel a trip to Swansea to treat her to a new roof will be in the fairly near future.

On Track For Sunset

Click image to view a bigger version

I was chatting to a friend about the things I always liked about the now venerable Powershot S95, and ended up on eBay looking at sold listings - they seem to go for an average of at least £250. For a camera that came out costing £400 in 2010, I think that's quite remarkable.
Still a cracking little camera that punches well above its tiny weight; I'm certainly not selling mine!

Prepare To Eat

Click image to view a bigger version

A bit of a random one, I'd sorted an old family friend out with a new camera, so we met up for lunch to hand it over to him.

I was explaining something about how the camera works, and took this to illustrate the point (Which now escapes my memory). I ended up quite liking it for some reason, so I kept it.
Maybe something about an unoccupied human-centric space again - I feel like that's a bit of a theme I keep coming back to.
