It's in full sun and rapidly melting, you muppet.
(It was still tasty).
A backup photo today.

Please Ensure All Drownings Take Place Over There
For safety, you understand. And it wouldn't do to trample the nice purple flowers over here. Yes, I am in a mildly unhinged frame of mind.

Firecat
A backup photo, taken at the Wales airshow a couple of days ago.
This thing is impressively manoeuvrable for what must be a heavy aircraft with a lot of water sloshing around in the back.
Still, I suppose water doesn't get airsick, complain or ask for a refund...

Before We Go Home
A backup photo today, it was a busy one packing up and driving home, then getting the van cleared out, cleaned, and refuelled ready to send back.
It was a really good holiday, in spite of my feeling pretty ropey at times.
I came home with almost as much beer as I'd left with, as I'd not wanted to poison myself with paracetamol and booze!

Firebirds
In a completely unplanned but rather fortuitous turn of events, we discovered that our last full day in Wales coincided with the Wales Airshow, so we decided to go along and have a look.
It was a great day out, and I've still only got through culling the first of three sessions worth of photos - I rather surprised myself when I checked the camera in the evening and found that I'd taken nearly 4000 photos.
No wonder I was going through batteries like they're going out of fashion!
These three photos are of Firebirds Displays doing their daytime thing. (Yes, they also have a nighttime thing, which might appear later, if the photos aren't terrible)
A couple more after the jump.

Pull Up A Chair
No idea where the owners of these chairs had gone, this bit of the beach was all but deserted. I quite liked the shot though.
I took this shortly after eating in the only restaurant I've ever seen decorated with an oscilloscope and an ammeter (among many other things); a rather fun place, Swansea Observatory.
I must confess I have fairly regularly eaten in the company of measurement instruments, but only in my lab until now!

Rhossili
Turns out to be a lovely place.
I was glad I had elected to wear a hat, I'd have been well scorched in this walk otherwise. It only blew off my head once, too!

Ripples
I managed to get out for a walk on the beach today; Paracetamol is wonderful stuff!
Posted outrageously late again; I'm still catching up.

Campsite Supervisor
A backup photo today (from last night).
I woke up feeling really rough, and didn't make it off the campsite.
Fortunately my indefatigable in-laws were on hand to ply me with restorative iced coffee, good humour, and cough medicine.
I'd almost certainly have given up and gone home without their support.

Beach Peek
Sneaking a peek at the sea between a couple of beach huts on the way towards a walk along Langland Bay.

Once In A Blue Moon
(*Not an actual blue moon, at risk of outing myself as some kind of charlatan)
This was a backup photo, the 19th was the first day of my holiday - I borrowed Bailey and a camper van and went to Wales - dog tax after the jump.

Bench Therapy
I do like an abandoned bench as a subject.
What can I say? I'm a bit odd, but I guess you knew that already.

Sliver
Hello again, Internet.
I am inordinately late posting this owing to a holiday (upon which I got ill), an absolutely insane week back at work, and some other stuff.
I shall be trying to catch up over the next few days.
Good photo? Not really, but it happened on the day in question, so I suppose there's that!

2026-07-11
My brain has ceased to generate titles.
Anyway, I went to Brixham to see family and took some photos while I was there.
This is one of them.
I just posted it. Hopefully.

Focus Is Optional
A backup from last night.
Technically not correct on account of nothing being in focus, but I quite like it.

Come Fly With Me
Not sure what was going on here, some kind of private fair / silent disco thing was set up in the park.

Remain Hydrated
It is recommended that you do not leave your water bottle in the park for a passing photographer to take advantage of...

Hacked Off
As someone who meddles with cables from less than a millimetre across up to big beasties thicker than your wrist, I quite like the lack of scale here.
Niche interest though...
(About 8mm total diameter for any fellow weirdos in the audience)

Slurp
I went for a walk this evening, and travelled light with the EOS M6 II kit because I had the annoying muscle spasm back in my chest again - I think it's brought on by falling asleep in a silly crunched-up position on the sofa, so I need to stop doing that!
Not mad with this one, I have to say.

Poplar Hawk-Moth
An early start this morning, I went out with a small Nottinghamshire wildlife trust group to see some moth traps being opened for a regular survey.
I didn't realise how many species of moth we have - it's well into the hundreds.
(And yes, I know this is not perched on a poplar, but I think it was getting a little sleepy by this time in the morning, and it happily transferred from our pencil onto the Meadowsweet)
A couple more after the jump.

Life, Lemons, Lights, and Lenses
I was scratting round for a subject this evening, and eventually landed on this lemon.
Being edible, I suppose it's at least loosely in my snackro category.
This one's a stack of 33 frames.
